Multiple CDs to DVDs

 This is something I've been playing with recently. I was getting annoyed with games these days shipping with an average of 3 or more CD. Sure, there have been some games released on DVD (such as Sims 2, UT2k4 and Far Cry) but other games have caused us to do the multiple CD juggle install. Well, if you own a DVD burner there's something you can do about it! :D

What You'll Need

Multiple CD game
DVD Burner
Orca Database editor

Optional, but recommended

ISO editing program
Virtual Drive program (Eg, Alcohol 120%, daemon tools, etc)

The Basics

For most games, there are 2 types on installer. They are:

  1. Games that have a prompt for a file. eg. "Please insert the disk containing xxxx.xxx' to insert the next disc
  2. Games that have a prompt like "Please insert Disk x"


Of these two types, the first one is very simple. The second case requires a little bit of extra effort, as we have to force the installer to think that all the content is on the same disc
